Real and reel life are same for Munmun Dutta

Munmun Dutta was made a star overnight with her role of a Benagali Damsel in Ulta Chashma. She is a Bengali too. Munmun entered acting with serial Hum Sab Barati on Z TV and continued marching ahead with her music bvideosm ad films, Hindi and Tamil films. She is full of enthusiasm with her role in Ulta Chashma.

Munmun belongs to Durgapur, two hours drive from Kolkata where she was born and grew up. Her family members also are in singing and Munmun took formal training in classical music and is a Visharad. At the same time she is also a good dancer too. Munmun was also trained in Salsa and Latin American dance forms. Being the only girl child she is her papa’s dearest.

Munmun has participated in many fashion shows and is an established model on the ramp shows. Talking about her education she told that she was admittted to a Pune college after doing her higher secondary to graduate in English. it was then that she got a chance to participate in Gladrags. At the age of 16 she was the only candidate selected from Pune. She came to Mumbai for participating in the show and stayed here. She is happy that she is a self made person and is thankful to her parents for encouraging her all along the way.

Like all other actresses Munmun also desired to enter Bollywood. Luckily she got a chance in Mumbai Express when Kamal Hasan gave her a chance to do a cong sequence in the film. Manisha Koirala was in the lead role in the film. As Puja saw her with Kamal Hassan in a photo published in an English newpaper she started looking for her and finally offered a shaded role in Holidays. Munmun says that she learnt a lot from Puja Bhatta during the shooting of this film. Unfortunately Munmun missed the bus as she was poor in PR. Though she remained busy in southern films. Munmun has worked with Shahrukh, Yuvraj Singh, and Akshay Kumar. She also worked with directors like Farah Khan, Pradip Sorkar, Nikhil Advani.

Munmun accepted the role of Babita in Ulta Chashma as it was better than doing C grade films. The sets for the serial resembles a family. Every artist feel belonging to a family and have developed friendship amongst them. Though she is busy with the serial she is also on the lookout for a main lead in a film.
